After two years¨ preparation,
the Asia-Pacific Tourism Organization registered in Police Department
in March 2004.HongKong is its Secretariat. As a newly founded organization
in the field of travel and tourism, our objective is to promote
Asia-Pacific region as an outstanding tourist destination. Through
our activities, we attract the world¨s attention to the Asia-Pacific
region. Ultimately, our aim is to be an equal, democratic and high-quality
organization. We also aspire to promote cooperation and communication
in the tourism business and stimulate economic growth and contact
with other countries besides Asia-Pacific region.
APTO links with more than 40 travel agencies of Asia-Pacific countries
and regions, confirms formally to some of the influential membership
in the travel industry, plans to establish 6 committees included
APTO Agency Committee, APTO Industry Investment Committee, APTO
Education Committee, APTO Hotel Committee, APTO Leisure Committee,
APTO Information Committee.

| As tourism grew and
became an integral part of the fabric of modern life, its international
dimension increased and national governments started to play an increasingly
important role-their activities covering the whole spectrum from infrastructure
to regulations. APTO¨s prospect is to be an equal, democratic, high-quality
travel cooperation organization with an aim of promoting the tourism
development of Asia-Pacific nations and the whole world. |

| Acting as an comprehensive
organization for Asia-pacific tourism, APTO plays an important role
in promoting international cooperation, in stimulating and developing
the global tourism, with a view to ensuring that member countries,
tourist destinations and businesses maximize the positive economic,
social and cultural effects of tourism and reap its benefits, while
at the same time they minimize its negative social and environmental
impacts. APTO is also to provide its members incentives for developing
business opportunities and enhance the growth, value, quality of Asia-Pacific
